2 hand swings with a 44#KB with a 20# 10' long chain attached 25 reps
prone row 50#DB 10R, 10L push ups 20 reps this was done twice
2 hand swings with a 44#KB with a 20# 10' long chain attached 25 reps
Goblet squats with 79#KB 8 reps
2 hand swings with a 44#KB with a 20# 10' long chain attached 25 reps

KB press with the same set up as above 5R, 5L.
KB crush grip curl with the same set up as above 8 reps.
KB goblet squat with the same set up as above 15 reps.
This sequence was repeated twice.

Friday, May 28. Workouts have been very sketchy this past month due to some medical procedures/tests. Glad to be back at it. It is a privilege to train.

Tabata protocol thrusters with a pair of 35# KBs 20 sec work/10 sec rest repeated 8 times for a total of 4 minutes
3 minute rest
alternated prone rows with a 50# DB 8R, 8L with sets of 10 pushups- did this sequence 3 times in 3 minutes.
3 minute rest
2 hand KB swings 79# 15 reps/30 sec rest 70# 20 reps/30 sec rest 62# 25 reps?30 sec rest 53# 30 reps? 30 sec rest

Did this sequence 5 times this week (last week was 4xs) with a two minute rest between rounds.
My snatch form is so much better going immediately from high pulls to snatches. Try it, you'll like it!

I probably should try it once in a while. I know that when I teach people the snatch, I make them transition from the high pull and sometime we go back and forth between them to reinforce it. It would be good for me to use more of those training tools on myself.

Did this sequence 5 times this week and decreased the rest time betweeen sequences from 120 secs. to 90 secs.

This workout and all that I do from this day forward are in honor of my dad who died this morning. He started weight training as a teenager at the Vanguard Gym owned by Leo Murdoch in the 1940s and 50s. He competed in bodybuilding in the 1950s and 70s and powerlifting from 1990 until 2 months ago. He set national and world records in the ADFPA over the past 20 years. Thanks for getting me started Dad. It is a privilege to train.
