Didn't do well trying to walk that fast, couldn't get the form right. Tried running on the balls of the feet, like I did when I used to run barefoot.
Good technique for sprints, not so much for distance.
I don't know why I feel like I've gotta bust a good sweat on no KB days, I get plenty of cardio doing my KB routine.
Walking is supposed to be for making my knees happy
Maybe some rope work.
Maybe swing intervals. Good cardio there, NO impact as far as I can tell.

No workout today, unless you count driving like 400 miles to and from bro in law's place for neice's wedding.
all out of whack now, up 18 hours and going the whole time.
I need a better vehicle. My Astro van sux for long trips, especialy in the Texas heat with no A/C.

2 TGUs each left and right. Verry hard to do with good form with a KB (what a differance 35 lbs makes)
Did the 'Easy 30' KB workout, Folowed by situps and half situps (straight legged)
Then loaded the home gym's entire weightstack (160lb equivalent) and did three half pulldowns (tryin to build up to pullups)
Jeanne tried to do the beginner workout that came with the KBs with me coaching, and I saw how bad she's doing with form, and made her stop, because she wouldn't listen to corrections, and she'll hurt herself or not get the real benefit of the exercise if she does it wrong.
For now, at least, she's going back to regular weights and BW exercises, at lest until she gets it that the swing is an explosive hip snap, not a deadlift/ front raise combo.

Went to walk and just couldn't hang with a nearly 1 hour walk with no blowing and almost no sweating (Yeah, right, in Texas you sweat standing still)
First tried a Racewalking drill by going into a run (okay jog) and going back to walking witout dropping speed. Couldn't do it long enough to get a good blow going (I can run farther)
Then had another idea: A short sprint (honest to god sprint) every lap. I can't keep going the full flat side (that would be 110 meters) but since I'm going all out, heels don't hit the ground at all.
If I were to wind up sprinting the flats and walking the curves for a full 8 laps (2 miles) that wouldn't be a bad thing. This might work.

2 Tgu's each left and right. Better form than last time, but I felt weak
Same during 'easy 30 KB workout.
did better than I have been, but felt weak
Wasn't realy feeling the KB tonight, sort of missed the less punishing DB and machine workout I was doing before, but that's not as functional. Just having a bad day I guess.

Aquatic / pt workout
Hang in deep water with ankle weights 10m (mild traction)(noodle for flotation)

Walk forward, backward, sideways 5m each

Hamstring stretch @ staps 5x20s

Trunk sidebends x25 (shallows)

Holding kickboard under water, trunk twist x25 (shallows)

march in place 30r (shallows)

Rise on toes, then on heels x30 (shallows) (this is one all runneres should do, on land or in water, to prevent shinsplints)

With arms straight, swing front to back x30 (past torso, I used hydro bells to increase resistance)(deep water)

Out to side and down x30 (like a a side lat raise)(deep water with hydrobells)

Leg kicks, forward, to rear, to side x30 each Do this in water and feel those adductors and abductors fire

Using a kickboard, pull arms straight down and up x30 (think straight arm front cable pulldown to waist)(deep water)

Hold kicboard under, verticaly, push out and pull in x30 (think pushup / pulley row) (deep water)

noodle in a u, put under foot and do a sort of one leg leg press x30 (actualy felt this one, was surprised)

Squats x30 (3.5 feet water) This and the leg press was where I started getting a hint of a difference in the firing of the posterior chain

Step ups x30 (3.5 feet water, on the bottom step) This was where I became certain the posterior chein has been firing wront when I do these on land. It's als where I noticed instability in the knees.

Step ups to the side x30 (ditto)

10min 'bicycling' while floating on a noodle (hey, I'm almost running and it doesn't hurt) good cardio, done with intensity

Added myself Hyrobell fly / reverse fly x 30

I'll probably do weights tonight, but not legs. I want to stick with Aquatic exercise for those untill I get that posterior chain / knee instability worked out

I've always liked step ups but never thought to try them in the water. Will have to give that a try. Great idea.

Later on that night
2x12 Chest press (96lbs machine)

2x12 Pulldown (110lbs)

2x20 Crunch

2x12 body weight deadlift

the step ups in water will show you any instability in your knees, and if your posterior chain is misfiring (probably not with a longtime KBer) you will feel a differance in how it fires.
All of the upper body stuff involvind front to back movement works the core automaticaly and quite well.

30m walk, not for cardio (got some anyway, low intensity)
Also did 1x15 leg ext. and leg curl with 30 lbs, lowest resistance available on my home gym. Next time will do with band, instead, as gym's leg attachment is (surprise!)a poor fit.
This was suggested to me as a way to help stabilize the knees, in addition to the Aquatic PT exercises.
Also did some bridges, to help reprogram posterior chain,
and some unweighted TGUs (I really think this one exercise hits every muscle, and intend to keep doing it, in light of what I've learned about it)

Shoulder is doing better, still tender and doesn't like to be stretched, though.
7-28-10
AM (more like noon) did aquatics workout, substituted actual swimming for bicycling on a noodle, figured the overhand and rotary backstroke might help my baby of a left shoulder.
PM
Am starting a different thing today, beggining bodyweightculture, com's '20level challenge, as I intend to make my training a mix of bodyweight, barbell / dumbell, and KB work.
Level one exercises

Pushup hold: staying in the top possition of a pushup, basicaly. I did 43s, I want 90s before going to the level 2 variant.

Horizontal pullup hold: hanging under a waist high pullup bar, heels on floor. I did 37s, want 90 before next variant.

Bodyweight squats: I did 20, which was my goal, next resistance night I try the level 2 variant.

Crunch hold : 23s Weak gut! I want 90, of course.

Toe press (calf raise if you're a bodybuilder, with bodyweight only) 20reps; CAKE! will try L2 variant next time.

Chest press: went light and did 20 with 70 pounds 1 set only

Pulldown 20 with 60, easy, one set

2TGU with 5 lb dumb

5 swings

5 cleans

10 goblet squats

5 Mil press

10s break

8 swings

10 squats

5 cleans

10 swings All with 20 lb KB

3 TGUs each side w / 5 lb DB

20 crunch

5 bridge x 3s
