Thanks! I finaly got to use my Kettlebell for the first time tonight (except a bit of playing around before)and it whipped my butt good!
Did the 'easy 30 kettlebell workout' from liftkettlebells.com. Easy? yeeeaaah right!

this is a set workout involving:

30 s jumping jacks
30s body squats
1min swings
30s rest
front squat (30s left, 30s right)
30s rest
Windmill (1m left, 1m right)
swings (waist high 30s)
Swings (head high 30s)
Swings 1 hand (30s each l&r)
1m rest
Military press (30s each l&r)
30s rest
1m Jumping Jacks
30s Pushups
1m rest
Swings (1m)
Swings (full ext. 1m)
1m rest
1 Arm row (1m 8l,8r,2sets)
30s rest
1 Arm row (30s 4l, 4r, 2 sets)
30s rest
Pullovers (30s)
Floor press (30s l, 30s r, 2 times)
30s Pullovers
1m rest
1m 1 Arm row (8x2 set per side, alt)
30s rest
30s 1 Arm row (4x2 set per side)
30s rest
1m Jumping Jacks
1m rest
Snatch (30s laft, 30s right, 1m left, 1m right, 30s left, 30s right)

To be honest, I didn't last through the swings verry well, I did more high pulls than snatches, and not many of those. Almost the entire time I was supposeed to be snatching I was huffin and puffin too hard to do anything.
That's cool, when I can last the whole boogger, I'll consider myself in GOOD shape!

Thanx, everybody
7-10-10:
1/2 mile walk to track
8 laps run 1/4 walk 3/4 (2 miles)
1/2 mile walk home
Considering how blown out (blowed out in Texican) I get doing the 'easy 30' KB workout, I wonder why I bother to run on off days. Should just walk (therarutic for arthritic knees) instead, Maybe do some MA practice.

Actualy, that's what I'm doing, though this is the first time I've heard of this guy. My brother came up with this idea back in 78 or 79 when he was trying to get in shape after a layoff.
His idea was, using the school's regulation track, run 1/4 of each lap, and walk the other 3/4. (reading my log will tell you this is what I'm currently doing)
The next step is to run 1/2 of each lap, then 3/4, then full laps.
Didn't read enough to see if that's Galloways protocal, but it works. My issue is I started walking as thereapy for my knees, as they're both arthritic. I started walking more seriously for cardio when I started resistance training.
I started the run/walk protocol to up the intensity of the cardio. Now that I've seen how a Kbell will work cardio, I'm not real sure this protocol is necessary or appropriate.
running with arthritis is no joke, and most PTs recomend against it.
Of course, I'm a stubborn cuss, and telling me not to do something usualy doesn't work, especialy in light of how many times in the past few decades medical science has reversed itself (back in the bad old days, they used to 'treat' arthritis by immobilization, often resulting in frozen joints.
I'm sort of thinking this through outloud, inviting thoughts from others and pondering

Art,

After reading your other post and reading your workout again I think you may have just over done it a bit with the workout and running the next day on top of it.

Just don't be in a hurry with kettlebell training. It's a great workout even during the "practice" phase.

We silverbkacks have to balance between keeping moving and resting enough so we don't rust or wear out! Keep up the good work.

Easy 30 KB workout again tonight
Had a bit more trouble with floor presses (maybe because I went from wall pushoffs to pushups on the kitchen counter) and rows than last time, did a touch better with swings (still stood and blew more than I swung, but as long as I'm a puffin, I'm a trainin) and a teensy bit better with high pulls / snatches (realy gonna have to dress that KB handle, though, there is some slag spots on it)
I intended to do a few TGUs before the circuit, but I forgot.
No way I could do them after. Also got out the Swiss ball and a resistance tube and got some good stretching in.
Still debating running on non KB days or not.

run/walk day.
did my usual 1/2 mile walk to the track, 2 miles of interval running / walking, then 1/2 mile home.
For the walk home, I took off the shoes and socks and walked bare foot, to maybe toughen up my feet some, like they were when I was prone to go barefoot most of the time

Okay, that's it, running is out the window, at least for now. Tuesday after doing the easy 30 KB workout monday night, my knees did not hurt. At all. This morning after my run / walk/ run thing, I have pretty bad knee pain, to the point I didn't argue when the wife wanted to start with something much easier than the easy 30.
Namely the worlout that's included with the GoFit KBs.
this is a simple, light KB workout for beginners that goes something like this:
2 (per side) TGUs We didn't do this because we were in the bedroom where the DVD player is, and there was insufficient space. Also I can't do them that fast.

5 two arm swings

5 cleans each l&r

5 Single arm squats each l&r I did not actualy do these becase I had done more than that having started the east 30 before she stopped me. Jeanne's balance wasn't good, so she did Goblet squats instead

5 military press l&r

10s break

3 TGUs each side (again we couldn't actualy do these)

8 two arm swings

5 single arm squats l&r (Jeanne did Goblets again, I actualy did this set)

5 cleans l&r

10 two arm swings

This workout was put together by Sarah Lurry (probably got that spelling wrong) of Iron Core and seems prettygood, but of course for me I added:

30s pushups (just like in easy 30) this time off the coffee table (knee height)

45s pullovers

30s l&r floor press (about 11 reps each side)

30s pullovers

Then realized I was supposed to do rows before and after this stuff, so did them after:
2x8 row

30s rest

2x4 row

30s rest

2x8 row

30s rest

2x4 row

At this point I wanted to do some more to make up for not doing easy 30, but just too late
Jeanne opted to do no push/ pull at all, not even her machine press/ pulldowns.
Before work today I was checking out walking and racewalking sites. Racewalking, to me, looks sort of like jogging without the bouncing, will try that tomorrow and save my knees from all that pounding

Didn't go too well trying to walk that fast, couldn't get the form right.
switched off to running / walking but tried running on the balls of my feet, instead of traditional heelstrike method (used to do that sprinting)
That took some stress off the knees, but made me run faster , for less distance. Really don't know why I insist on trying to get up into running, KBs will give me all the cardio I can ever use. Walking is for knees, and running tears them up.
Maybe I should consider rope skipping on non KB days, so I feel like I'm getting some cardio in.
Maybe I shoud do just swings for cardio on off days. Hmm.
