The 40 min Ultimate Body Sculpt and Condition workout using my 26lb kb for about 1/2 or a little more of the workout, then I had to go down to the 20.
I'm zapped!

Mostly cardio today for an hour. I used a Firm workout (I like those. :)) There was some light weight training but it was mostly things like lunges and squats with an 8lb weight for 4limb movement to keep the cardio going vs. really lifting the dumbbells...some push ups (I can actually do some on my toes now vs. the girlie ones!!!!)

Nice work with the push ups, Penny. I think every girl should be able to do push ups on their toes. At least a few. ;o)

I think everyone should be able to do pushups!
I have a 71-year old (female, not that it matters) that can now do 15 toe pushups, and have had 30-year old guys that could barely hold a plank for 15 seconds, who later progressed to doing many, many pushups.
I was informed on several occasions that pushups can cure all problems:
-They can make weak strong...
-The deaf hear...
-and, the stupid smart.

RE: Heavy sets.
"Jim, how long of a rest do you take between really heavy sets?"
I rest between 3 and 5 minutes between a really heavy set. That is the recommended rest period for a full recovery.

Today's workout was the 12 in Fat Burning from Lauren's DVD x2.
I used the 35 lbs kb for all exercises except lat rows, clean/squat/press and the last segment that high pull/catch/squat (used 35), alt cleans (changed to 26), alt swings (26) and o/h swing (26).
Then the 2nd time through I used the 26#. That 26 sure feels a lot lighter after slinging around the 35!!!
Oh, and my neighbor is interested in doing kbs. She is a personal trainer and runs her own bootcamp workout business so I told her we'd get out in the yard after all our kids are out of school in a couple weeks and I'd show her what (little) I know.

Thanks, Lisa!! I'm really surprised at how fast I've been able to progress with some of the exercises and the amount of weight.

Today's workout:
TGU x3 (each side) with 20# Step ups on 14" step x 12/leg holding 20 in rack position Clean and press x8 per side with 20 Overhead squat x5 (Only did one set per side because my back did NOT like it...lower back actually down at the top of my hips....muscles are really hurting there so I stopped with that after that 1 set) Swings (don't know how many I did...I used Lisa's workshop video just to check my form and did lots each time I did the sequence) KB twist x 20 using 26# Did all this 3 times unless marked.
