Like the short sprints. I'm going to start adding a bunch more of those in my training soon. They go really fast if you don't keep up with them.

Cheers Jim. Still trying to find stuff that doesn't aggravate the back injury. These were done on grass and weren't too bad.

Rich

That's quite the workout on July 3. Do you manage to do the 50 reps of each of the exercises done in one go? What's the rest time between sets? I like to do my power cleans right before my deadlifts. The weight moves up off the floor on the DLs better that way for me.

I broke up the sets in various ways. Can't really remember the denominations. It was just trying to get through the whole thing in less than 45 minutes, which was my goal.

I did the cleans with a 3 minute rest between sets, well before all the rest of it. I think I will stick with cleans for a month or so, and see how they go. Need to up the max power production a little.

Wow, Jim, you're hard core. I've done ring dips and tried to do L sits (on the rings, I presume) and that's brutal.

Do you like the barefoot cleans?

Most of my kb workouts are barefooted but I'm not sure, for whatever reason, it would feel as good with the barbell. Although I do DL barefooted too. ;o)

It gets really hot here and I don't like wearing shoes in the summer unless I have too.

I have the 'flat soled rubber shoes' recomended for KB training, but I prefer barefoot.
prefered it with BBs / DBs too, probably from 20+ years of martial arts training.
At one time I even ran barefoot (I was primarily a sprinter, so not running far)

I usually always train barefoot when using kettlebells or deadlifting.

Doing barbell cleans barefoot is way different. They are way harder. The lack of support really shows. I would be at least 25% stronger with lifting shoes on, but what fun is that?

Exactly. We don't just want to lift big numbers, we want to make it hard on ourselves, and gain functional strength.
Maybe your foot muscles will get stronger.
