Cold and wet in California today so no running.
20 minutes on the stationary bike on interval setting Level 7. That's about all the self-induced lobotomy I can take, even with the TV on.

20 minutes of mind-numbing zombification on the stationary bike set on interval level 7. Even with the TV I couldn't take it any more. Too cold here in California to run.

Today

Windmills x3 (l,r) 35lbs
Military Press x5 (l,r)53lbs
Double KB Suitcase Kickstand Lunge x5 (l,r) 53lbs
Double KB Floor Press x5 53lbs
Good Morning x10 53lbs
All done as circuit x3

2 Arm Swings 3x20 53lbs
Snatches 1x10 (l,r) 35lbs (53's are not going to happen for awhile on the snatch)

I am really enjoying the 53lbers. I can feel other muscles (like the lats, for instance) engaging to handle the weight; also the increased level of concentration required to maintain good form with heavier weights.

I have some insight as to Indiana Jones' state of mind when the giant stone ball rolls toward him. On my second TGU rep with my left arm the bell got away. I managed to direct it toward a bag of old clothes that are sitting in my garage. No harm to me or the bell. I probably shouldn't have but I did another rep so I'd have two on each side then did TGU singles the rest of the workout. I felt a little ambitious and so tried the dbl KB swings with the 53#s. I got through them but I don't think I'm quite ready for the 53#s yet.

Switched my routine to a 5x5 routine as per Mike Mike Mahler although in practice it became a 4x5 routine.

Workout A
A1) Double KB Military Press 4x5 53#
A2) Alternating Renegade Row 4x5 53#
B1) Double KB Front Squat 4x5 53#
B2) Double KB Swing 4x5 53#
C) Double KB Windmill (Windmill) (l,r) 2x1
Superset A1 & A2, B1 &B2, then finish with C.

I'm going easy on the running until I get my new orthotics. I recently discovered that my right leg was about 1/2 inch shorter than the left. You would think I would have noticed before now.

Steady state run 4.28 miles around neighborhood.
Persistent tightness in left hamstring that's noticeable @ 2-1/2
miles into run. I may have to go back to the dreaded stationary bike until it clears up. It doesn't bother me with the KB's however.
