Ho hum, not good at logging last week. Pulled a muscle in my neck preparing for HKC and then got stressed about it. Did manage some light TGU, chin up and squat practise before going.
However should not have worried. I had a lovely day at HKC. Andrea and Nicole du Caine were there and they were lovely.I passed the strength test easily as they reduced the hang from 25 sec to 15 sec because others couldn't do this. Lots of sound advice about swings, squats and TGU. I kicked *ss with the planks, I was the only woman on the course but only a few of those macho men could hold a few 30sec planks as easily as I could, they should try the boot camp I do. Even the trainers had to comment! To my surprise I passed. So am a very proud HKC!

Oh dear I have been pretty rubbish at logging this week. Work is crazy again. June and July are always like this.
Tuesday and Thursday were bootcamp sessions. The first was very simple-squats, push ups and something I can't remember on the minute for 10 minutes- that left me a little stiff. The second was a real killer. The gym is a short but demanding uphill run from Robin Hood's statue in Nottingham- six of those and 30 each of double thrusters, snatches, burpees, push-ups, duck walks and a timed double kettlebell squat was quite a session.
I did manage one home session- a simple circuit: 5 negative pull ups Core work-abs and glutes 20 swings with 20kg x5 No workouts this weekend as my school is exhibiting art work and I'm going to support that.

Actually did get to the gym because a few members of staff came to help out and give me a break
JM Deadlifts Built up slowly from 12kg to double 28kg x5 Renegade rows- 8kg, a few reps to remember how to
Ladder 1-5 push up, burpee back on bell handles, renegade row, deadlift clean and press.
Found 8kg a little light so just tried 12kg renegade row-am able to use these far more confidently now stretch

Yesterday bootcamp- lots of fun tyre dragging and trying to walk on treadmill cranked up really high. Did my first 1 min 16kg snatch and repeated it. Dropped down to 12kg for last minute as fatigue setting in and form going.
Today JM 15 negative pull ups in sets of 5 Snatch ladders (in the garden) 12kg 1,2,3,4,5 skipping for a minute or two stretch

Sorry-work has been busy and I have not had time to log. Finding time to workout has been hard too. But have managed a few sessions. My bootcamp instructor's wife had a baby so his gym was closed for a week. I decided to do one of his workouts anyway. JM
1 min each 30 sec rests Double 8kg thrusters swings 20kg push ups burpees squats mountain climbers 4 sets
10v sit 10 sit up 30 sec plank 30 sec rest 3 sets
Back at bootcamp, I'm increasing my weights. I've played it safe for a while but am now starting to push harder with bigger weight. 16KG snatch is now confident enough to use for a few sets, I used 20kg for 1 arm rows last night and managed double 12kg snatch with some encouragement.

Good to see your work out log again. You were missed. I have done a weight lifting club with middle school students (11-14 yrs olds) for many years. Last year I introduced them to KBs at the end of this past school year. Using competition style bells worked well, as they were all the same size, so students' egos didn't get in the way as much, needing to impress each other with how much they could lift. They were intrigued. I hope to get a KB club going this year as an after school activity.

Chris,
Don't worry about it. I always train outside in my garden even in the winter. I think the neighbours have got me pegged as the local "nutter"!
